A Little More About Us

Peace Christian Preschool offers caring, qualified teachers and a secure, spacious child-centered environment. We have been providing a nurturing Christian Environment since 1981. We strive to educate our students spiritually, academically, socially and physically, all with an emphasis on Christ.

Peace Christian Preschool believes that a child’s work is play, and through play and directed learning a child can grow and learn about himself and God’s world. A day in our school provides a child many opportunities to explore and relate to others in a positive and nurturing environment. Time is balanced between directed and free time, group and individual time, indoor and outdoor time, and quiet and active time. Some of the available choices on a given day include block building, stringing beads, play dough, music, dress-up, arts and crafts, reading books, writing, cooking, etc. Outdoor equipment and activities to assist in large motor development include tricycles and scooters, climbing, sliding, sand box, etc. We also like to bring the inside out. You may find manipulatives and art or puzzles and books outside as well.

The teacher is responsible for all the children in her care. She sets up her classroom and directs age appropriate lessons for the children. Children are encouraged to express themselves and share their feelings about circumstances and other people by using their words rather than physical force. Christian character traits are taught and encouraged through these experiences.

Our center offers a balanced curriculum that is developmental in its approach to teaching the children. Teachers will provide learning activities that best meet the needs of the children. These could be both teacher directed and child directed. Everyday learning activities include:

One of the paramount bridges to learning is good social adjustment and successful interaction with others. Positive feelings of self-worth bring freedom and confidence to move toward new experiences. Teachers provide a nurturing environment that fosters Christian character, positive self-esteem, acceptance of self, and appreciation of others and their cultural backgrounds.
